US Politics - February 2025 | Bluesky, Biden, and the Deep State: How Politics, Media, and Big Tech Shape the Narrative

February 12, 2025

From Kamala Harris' future to Twitter’s exodus, legal battles, and Biden’s Hollywood ties—an inside look at the forces driving America’s political landscape in 2025.

The DNC has a new Chair and continues its losing agenda, electing another progressive Minnesotan who equates unions with the middle class and family values. Clearly, they have not learned from Tim Walz, and the Vice Chair appears to be an even bigger disaster. Perhaps both could take lessons from Maxine Waters and Bernie Sanders , who put Marx and Lenin at the forefront. Will they keep the 20% issue approval rating? Politico believes Harris and Martin won, while Democrat billionaire donors lost, bringing the rating down to 15%. Logically thinking? Well, good luck.

Minnesotans have voted for Democratic presidential candidates since 1976, longer than any other ongoing streak outside the South. Minnesota and the District of Columbia were the only electoral votes not won by incumbent Republican President Ronald Reagan in 1984. Instead, Minnesota voters chose former Vice President and Senator Walter Mondale , a Minnesota native. Either Mondale or Hubert Humphrey appeared on the Democratic ticket in the 1964 , 1968 , 1976 , 1980 , and 1984 elections. [ citation needed ]

Ken Martin was elected as the new chair of the Democratic National Committee on Saturday. He pledged to serve as "a pro-labor progressive" ready to rebuild the party as a fighting force for working-class Americans. This mission is critical, especially after a 2024 election where Democrats lost both the White House and Congress. Martin, the longtime chair of the Minnesota Democratic Farmer Labor Party, acknowledged that the party must reconnect with its diverse, working-class base.

Sanctuary cities in the U.S. are more common than many think. Here is a list of their locations.

The Trump Team is almost complete , with Kash, Kennedy, and Gabbard still awaiting confirmation. Meanwhile, Democrats continue their resistance, throwing obstacles in the confirmation process. The frustration seems to have shifted toward Elon Musk and unelected officials who aim to cut costs rather than engage in endless political debates.

Project 2025 was frequently referenced during the election as a "MAGA" agenda, but the left-leaning press refuses to acknowledge the Trump administration’s independent strategies. Instead, they frame it as a smear campaign. Meanwhile, the media is focused on government expenses , questioning the need for taxpayer-funded media subscriptions.

A New York Times spokesperson on Friday told Reuters that USAID did not provide funding to the company. A day earlier, the newspaper stated, "Federal funds received by The Times are payments for subscriptions that government offices and agencies have purchased to better understand the world." It added that no federal grants were made to the news outlet.

The BBC’s finances came under scrutiny in early February after Musk shared a post claiming USAID funds the broadcaster. Its charity wing, BBC Media Action, which has received funding from USAID and other donors, is independently funded and editorially separate from BBC News, a BBC Media Action spokesperson told Reuters.

A spokesperson for BBC News stated that it does not receive any funding from USAID and that it is editorially independent from BBC Media Action.

Reuters, which also faced online accusations of being funded by government agencies, stated that it does not have a contractual relationship with USAID. “As with all news agency customers, governments pay a fee for Reuters news services. No payments from any client, including any government entity, influence our news coverage, which is governed by the Thomson Reuters Trust Principles ensuring independence, accuracy, and freedom from bias in all we do,” a spokesperson said.

Where are Kamala Harris and her husband? She is back in the mix. But first, watch the CBS interview she gave during the election campaign. The way television reporting manipulates the public is astounding. Will everything be forgotten in two or four years, allowing her another shot at a high-power position? California may be the perfect place for her. Newsone and Maxine Waters set a fairly low bar. Meanwhile, her husband can certainly enjoy the benefits of the connections he made in Washington , securing a lucrative position at a top law firm. No doubt he will bring in high-ranking Democratic clients to maintain the firm's position among the top ten in the U.S.

The A-List recognizes the most well-rounded firms that achieve strong financial results while affirming their core values. The American Lawyer ranks firms based on five factors: revenue per lawyer, pro bono commitment, associate satisfaction, racial diversity, and the percentage of equity partners who are women. Revenue per lawyer and pro bono work are given double weight. Each metric measures the relative performance of Am Law 200 firms, with rankings based on their standing among all 200 firms.

John Fetterman—love him or hate him —has “common sense” and respects the will of the American people. If the majority supports immigration policies, investigations into the DOJ and other government institutions, or discussions about DEI and transgender athletes in sports, opposing them outright, in his view, is undemocratic. Discussion is fine, but obstruction?

Former Vice President Mike Pence opposing Robert F. Kennedy Jr.? If abortion is the only issue that matters, it is just as extreme as the left’s stance on transgender medical procedures. Abortion, as a measure of women's safety, has a place in today’s world— as it did in the Middle Ages. Ultimately, it is not Mr. Pence who must answer to God, but every individual.

Religious values have long influenced the use of birth control, both before and after conception. Taking their cue from the Biblical commandment to “Be fruitful, and multiply,” medieval Christianity saw procreation as the sole purpose of sex. Therefore, birth control was often harshly condemned and equated with abortion. One ninth-century text explains, “A woman who has taken a magic potion, however many times she would otherwise have become pregnant and given birth, must recognize herself to be guilty of homicide.”

However, other texts suggest that the reasoning behind contraception could be a mitigating factor. The eleventh-century Decretum by Burchard of Worms states, “It makes a big difference if a poor woman does it because she cannot afford to feed a child or if a fornicator does it to conceal her crime.”

The Blue State Lawyers exercise democracy on behalf of the Democratic Party as part of the bureaucracy. Since lawyers, in general, tend to donate to Democrats, their main interest is certainly in maintaining the system, with many members of Congress being lawyers themselves—speaking "Law-ish." Looking ahead to a kakistocracy in 2028, perhaps Trudeau could be involved—if Canada becomes the 51st state. Surely, that possibility never crossed his mind when Trump mentioned it?

U.S. District Judge Paul Engelmayer in Manhattan issued an order after a coalition of 19 mostly Democratic-led U.S. states filed a lawsuit late Friday, arguing that Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency has no legal power to access the U.S. Department of Treasury systems.

Now we know: Biden can no longer sell U.S. secrets to anyone in the world—or to Hunter—except for whatever is still stored in his garage. One has to wonder: Did he fill up the boxes before leaving, or will Hollywood turn it into a movie about the Corvette? Or perhaps something more like The Real Godfather ? Surely, it would have to be labeled as fiction.

"President Biden is one of America’s most respected and influential voices in national and global affairs," said Richard Lovett, co-chairman of CAA, praising the former leader’s "commitment to public service."

"We are profoundly honored to partner with him again."

The Hollywood Reporter notes that Lovett and fellow co-chairs Bryan Lourd and Kevin Huvane were among Hollywood’s prominent backers of Biden and Kamala Harris in the most recent election, along with other Democratic candidates.

Twitter Quitters: Bluesky brags about hitting the 30 million mark. That’s about 15% of the population over age 12 in America—essentially, the bubbliest of the blue bubble, unwilling to engage in democracy or conversations outside their beliefs. The upcoming Bluesky feature will allow users to receive responses only from within their comfort zone. This means users can broadcast opinions freely, but responses will be limited—an interesting take on "democracy."

The social network Bluesky has grown rapidly since the 2024 U.S. presidential election, adding over 14 million users since November and surpassing 30 million by February 5. Mark Hamill recently joined, proclaiming himself a "Twitter Quitter," while Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York became the first person to reach over one million followers on the platform—excluding Bluesky’s own accounts. She now has 1.7 million followers.

The Deep State remains active, protecting itself with Obama-era lawyers now defending the FBI. How this plays out remains to be seen, but it’s interesting to watch familiar names resurface from the shadows.

One of the attorneys representing anonymous FBI agents suing the Department of Justice to block the public identification of agents involved in the January 6 investigations is a longtime anti-Trump lawyer who worked with House Democrats on President Donald Trump’s first impeachment.

Norman L. Eisen(born November 11, 1960) [1] is an American attorney, author, and former diplomat. He is a senior fellow in governance studies at the Brookings Institution , a CNN legal analyst, and co-founder of the States United Democracy Center. [2] [3] He served as co-counsel for the House Judiciary Committee during the first impeachment trial of President Donald Trump in 2020. He was also White House Special Counsel for Ethics and Government Reform, U.S. Ambassador to the Czech Republic , and board chair of Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW). [4]

Celebrating 250 years of the Army with a Parade , makes President Trump a King ? You can certainly debate if it is a good Idea, but a King, that is then called a Stratocracy , but calling Trump a Stratocrat, probably never heard. Healthy again, well the US is probably the most obese country on the planet, and the most drug users at the same time, this is prescription only, not speaking of illegal drug, or over the counter. So give the administration some credit for cleaning out the pharmaceutical lobbyists in the vaccine advisory Group and get some independent and medical experts to decide. The new global order, with President Trump leaving the G7 summit early, without a clear statement, and a failed attempt to reinstate the G-8; (Russia is excluded since 2022) the G 6 without the US are trying their own power play with the new German Chancellor as the face and spokesperson , representing Canada and Europe, in an attempt to ridicule their standing and strengthen the BRIC coalition. Perhaps they took their advice from the Bilderberg community. But Merz, to keep his standing in Germany, must distance himself from Trump, as Trump is a person non grata in Germany . As of today, the Bilderberg Group is holding a conference at the "Grand Hôtel" in Stockholm. Under high security precautions, the elite circle has rented the entire hotel until June 15. In the German-speaking press, the discreet Bilderberg meeting has so far been remarked: nothing! The list of participants includes around 140 high-ranking personalities. Mark Rutte, (NATO Secretary General), Lars Klingbeil (Vice-Chancellor Germany), Julia Klöckner (President of the Bundestag), Christopher Donahue (US General, Commander US Army Europe and Africa), Samuel Paparo (US Admiral, Commander US Indo-Pacific Command), Albert Bourla (Chairman Pfizer), Richard Moore (Chief of British Intelligence), Sophie Wilmès (Vice-President of the EU Parliament) and numerous other actors from politics, business, science and the media will confer under strict Secrecy about big politics.

As a continuation of the summit in Helsinki , the following conference that included Presidents Bush and Gorbachev took place in November 1990 in Paris. The conference included 34 nations, each a part of the Conference on Security and Cooperation in Europe (CSCE) . The conference resulted in the signing of the Conventional Armed Forces in Europe (CFE) treaty by members of NATO and the Warsaw Pact. The states of the CSCE also made arrangements to hold similar high-level political meetings regularly to build upon efforts to prevent conflict, control arms, and safeguard elections within these countries. [4] Netanyahu, Israel’s Premier, invokes the Old Testament—an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth. Since Israel and its supporters portray it as the homeland of Jesus, perhaps the phrase love your enemies was forgotten when the British mandate over Palestine expired and the State of Israel was born—with official recognition from both the U.S. and USSR. With the latest escalation in the conflict and a vow to eliminate Hamas , it appears that the escalation includes the elimination of Gaza . Those unable to flee are seemingly treated as legitimate targets in what some interpret as a strategy to clear the territory for Israeli expansion. What about Trump’s plan to buy the territory and rebuild? That would involve resettling many refugees, but is that worse than killing them? Trump is turning his focus to the broader Middle East , aiming to unite the “non-violent” actors and build a peace coalition, thereby restraining Iran’s allies (presumed to have UN protection), who are often seen as the root of instability. So why are evangelicals supporting the violence —alongside the Jewish elite— while the Left and Europe begin to reconsider their stance ? Are all Palestinians terrorists? What is the true meaning of “from the River to the Sea” —a call for democracy or a religious conflict between Islam and Christianity? And then there’s the UN, watching? And the new Pope, pleading for aid —but peace talks? Only Trump? Shortly after his inauguration, Chancellor Merz made his mark on German politics by deploying permanent troops to Lithuania— you be the judge —possibly to support allies under the guise of protection. His actions won’t help global stability, and insiders in Germany do not dismiss the possibility of aggression reminiscent of WWII, now reframed under the narrative that Russia is the enemy. He will certainly support Zelensky unconditionally, using the war as justification to rebuild EU military strength. European Union leaders concluded a busy defense-focused week by endorsing a landmark plan to unlock €800 billion ($866 billion) in European military spending—though internal political divisions remain. Nelson Mandela, upon becoming South Africa’s president, emphasized moving forward together—not retaliating for the past. One reason for his divorce was reportedly that his wife had a more radical, vengeance-driven outlook, which he believed was incompatible with building a democratic society. Yes, apartheid was real, but reversing the oppression with retribution only prolongs emotional wounds. One has to ask what is just . Perhaps Trump has a point— crime is rampant . But of course, there are always two sides to a story .
