The Presidential Debate: A Liar vs a Teleprompter
The drama of the Presidential debate showed the world that the US is run by a teleprompter, period. As a first reaction, Biden had a bad night, and Trump lied the whole night. The President's inner circle released their fury again the next day at a rally in Durham . Equipped with a prompter, he sounded like he was giving a State of the Union address, and all seemed good again according to his inner circle.
Since the perception remains that Trump may gain in popularity, enough to win, will Judge Marchan try to jail him to get him out of the public eye? Since the conviction did not really move the needle, this may not either. But wait, the Supreme Court threw a wrench into Biden's and the Democrats' hopes to jail him, infuriating Biden to a boiling point. He addressed the nation in a 6-minute after-hours hate speech , essentially calling to overthrow the Supreme Court and install justices like Sotomayor, with another ally for ideological cooperation.
For now, it is business as usual, with Jill and Hunter at Joe's side. Does that really surprise anyone? Hunter has been an ally all along, a regular on Air Force One, and Jill's power hunger eats Michelle and Hillary for breakfast. Just wondering, who is carrying the cash for Hunter, as the bank connections are fairly well-known these days? Or is he using Putin's alternative currency system? We will only know by electing a non-Biden ally, right?
If you try to find any information about Hunter's purpose or reason to travel with his dad, it appears that all search engines have collaborated with the President's circle, as all you may get are some distant reports. Coincidence to save democracy?
Calls are growing for Biden to get out of the race, but why? The succession plan would have been replacing him after the election with Kamala and then choosing either Gretchen Whitmer or Gavin Newsome as the VP. But is Kamala or Newsome really a protector of the Obama legacy? Would Obama be left out of politics after such a coup? More importantly, are the two governors really #2s? In short, it is a mess. Reuters/Ipsos has a different take: Michelle Obama would beat Trump by a 50:36 margin. So, what is holding the party back from nominating her?
At the time of this writing, the show still goes on with Biden, with the political elite firmly behind him, but the left and others are concerned . But no names are called, so are they all afraid of Kamala? Democracy among their own, but some pundits will carry the torch for Kamala , clearly woke over merit, but a clear ideological mantra: abortion and immigration?
While other prominent Democrats might jockey for the nomination even if Biden steps aside and endorses Harris, some within the party are warning about the ramifications of bypassing the first female and first Black vice president, as well as the first of Indian descent.
“She has been a very visible and vocal advocate for this administration,” said civil-rights leader Rev. Al Sharpton, a Democrat. “She’s a loyal Democrat. I think the question is whether the Democratic Party will be loyal to women and loyal to Blacks, who have been loyal to them as symbolized by her.”
For Harris’s strongest backers, that it is even a question whether a sitting vice president should be her party’s last-minute replacement at the top of the ticket is the latest sign she has been disrespected in the role. Her detractors, meanwhile, say she hasn’t proved she is up to the task.
The big guy , maybe Jill it is. Never thought until some people made her appear as the shadow president, perhaps she is the mastermind of all of it, protecting the President, and all they had was a coded conversation all along. The Hur report may reveal some codewords, and Jill was certainly in charge of the house and garage? Or if you read this story , maybe Joe and Jill felt sorry for poor Hunter. Anyway, you would call this a dysfunctional family among the commoners.
"Very few people are fortunate enough to have marriages like the two of them have, they just have total trust in each other," the president's longtime friend and former chief of staff Ted Kaufman said.
The former senator, who began working for Joe Biden in the 1970s when he first ran for the Senate, told the ABC there wasn't a single major decision the president made that wasn't run past Jill.
Guess what, Nikki Haley wants a cognitive test for younger rivals to shine, perhaps her latest attempt to recommend herself to the VP list? It might be just a bit late, but you never know.
But the former South Carolina governor, in a Wall Street Journal interview, said Republicans shouldn’t assume replacing Biden would inherently help Trump.
“They are going to be smart about it: they’re going to bring somebody younger, they’re going to bring somebody vibrant, they’re going to bring somebody tested,” she said. “This is a time for Republicans to prepare and get ready for what’s to come because there is no way that there will be a surviving Democratic Party if they allow Joe Biden to continue to be the candidate.”
Haley also said she spoke about a week ago with Trump—the former president and presumptive Republican nominee—for the first time since she left the race in early March.
The War Mongers among the Obama administration fear peace and resort to rhetorical blunders to prove their case. They still believe diplomacy is the same as at home: you are with us, or you are the enemy. This sums up the Trump hatred in the way of a one-party Stalinist-like government. Sound democratic, does it?
Brainwashing, The term "brainwashing" was first used in English by Edward Hunter in 1950 to describe how the Chinese government appeared to make people cooperate with them during the Korean War . Research into the concept also looked at Nazi Germany and present-day North Korea , at some criminal cases in the United States, and at the actions of human traffickers .
Or here from Britannica - The term is most appropriately used in reference to a program of political or religious indoctrination or ideological remolding. The techniques of brainwashing typically involve isolation from former associates and sources of information; an exacting regimen requiring absolute obedience and humility; strong social pressures and rewards for cooperation; physical and psychological punishments for non-cooperation ranging from social ostracism and criticism , deprivation of food, sleep, and social contacts, to bondage and torture; and continual reinforcement.
BEN RHODES is a co-host of the podcast Pod Save the World and the author of After the Fall: Being American in the World We’ve Made . From 2009 to 2017, he served as U.S. Deputy National Security Adviser for Strategic Communications and Speechwriting in the Obama administration.
Ultimately, the most important thing that America can do in the world is detoxify its own democracy, which is the main reason a Trump victory would be so dangerous. In the United States, as elsewhere, people are craving a renewed sense of belonging, meaning, and solidarity. These are not concepts that usually find their way into foreign policy discussions, but if officials do not take that longing seriously, they risk fueling the brand of nationalism that leads to autocracy and conflict. The simple and repeated affirmation that all human life matters equally, and that people everywhere are entitled to live with dignity, should be America’s basic proposition to the world—a story it must commit to in word and deed.
What would really be the major difference in democracy between a Biden and Trump leadership, and why does the federalist system still matter? First, when Biden speaks of democracy, the US is not a pure democracy; it is a representative democracy where the representatives of a state represent the people. As such, the federalist system includes all the states. With all the special interests and biases, let's call them all representatives, some of them for the people.
Federalism , a mode of political organization that unites separate states or other polities within an overarching political system in a way that allows each to maintain its own integrity .
The Role of Democracy in a Republic
In the United States, the role of democracy within the republic is crucial , embodying the very essence of the electoral process and the engagement of the citizenry in governmental decisions. Although the U.S. Constitution does not embody a pure form of democracy where laws and policies are directly decreed by citizen vote, it enshrines the democratic principle through the election of representatives who, in turn, influence legislation and governance.
For Democrats, the constitution or federalism are not part of their vocabulary; it is ideology. Ideology usually refers more to religion or communism, not even today's China or Russia practice, that is more the school of Lenin, Stalin, or Mao. That was called detoxification, religious some hundreds of years back, politically rather newer memories. How to define the ideology or better teach history and let the people decide – here are the roadmaps or here. You decide if roadmap or ideology is a better way to democracy.
If you all need a reminder of what the left is capable of, David Victor Hansen has a great summary, but perhaps this time, there is no longer a spin out of Biden's bad first performance, you would think?
A later conservative poll found that Russian disinformation may have swung enough voters to ensure a 2020 Trump loss. It certainly saved Joe Biden in the first debate when he faced the American people and flat-out lied about the laptop, quoting “experts” that his own team had rounded up to legitimize his obvious untruths.
July 4 th , what if the US had remained under British rule as a colony? We should be forever grateful to the people who fought for independence and formed the United States of America. However, in today’s world, the Brits are our strongest ally. How come after the French fought on our side to defeat them back then? Perhaps originally French was a hard language to learn. Here is a bit more on the special relationship .
Have we not all heard that the Inflation Reduction Act will save us? Yes, inflation is down but not because of the act, but due to other factors. So we just no longer call it the Inflation Reduction Act , it’s now part of the Green New Deal. So much for honesty in politics?
All the actions taken during the Biden administration over the last three months are desperate moves to save public opinion: the border, economy, foreign policies. There is no strategy; it’s all patchwork. So, is Hollywood now running the election as the base for democratic values, or are they a driving force of ideological utopia, as they are probably as far removed from the original America as it gets? They obviously think it’s all a movie .
Mr. Carville is Mr. Carville , and he may be a democrat for life, but he has missed the boat. His ideas are from a 1960 democrat, and that is where he is missing the curve. He is sitting alone in front of the mic, the others he wants to address, the talents, are all on the far left. That is the real problem for the democrats. And he misses another point, if 72% of the people want something different, is that democracy or simply power with Biden being the front man?
We have heard it all from President Biden, the best economy globally since as far back as he can think. That leaves a lot of room for interpretation. However, there might be more truth in the fact that all the stimulus money may finally run out, and as the top 50% of Americans became richer, the other 50% are either hanging on or actually losing out in the middle class Joe economy. Another rhetorical claim could also be flat-out called a lie. Remember all those high-paying manufacturing jobs he created, 15 million? You find them in government, health care, and other service industries, but not where he threw the money?
The US trade deficit grew less than the “experts” predicted, so that is a victory for the “Made in America” democrat vision. Let’s see how long exporting LNG to Europe and missiles will support the export deficit shrinking. Imports have certainly not lessened the dependency, and the sanctions on Europe will have them increase the imports to the US. So, how many feet do you have to shoot into?
Solar is a good thing, here is a summary for you . Add the employment numbers, and you may wonder if it is really a million jobs, or a real factor in the employment stats. Or should we better advertise it as clean energy as we are not really sure we save the planet without going broke, and it certainly is not circular.
If you have no argument and feel threatened in your power, fear-mongering and message distortion are the best defenses. See all investigations into President Trump since 2015. The most recent example, "I will be a dictator on day one to reestablish the border policies if I win in 2024, then we go to work." For the Democrats' propaganda machine, Trump is a self-declared dictator, period. The same way the voices are reacting to Project 2025 , the deep state is really busy with itself. Not claiming the deep state is a cult, but those people believe their claims with no real questioning, it's absolute. Well, since when is democracy absolute?
With the move to San Francisco came increasing political involvement by the Temple and the high levels of approval they received from the local government. [24] After the group's participation proved instrumental in the mayoral election victory of George Moscone in 1975, Moscone appointed Jones as the Chairman of the San Francisco Housing Authority Commission. [25] Increasing public support in California gave Jones access to several high-ranking political figures, including vice presidential candidate Walter Mondale and First Lady Rosalynn Carter . Guests at a large 1976 testimonial dinner for Jones included Governor Jerry Brown , Lieutenant Governor Mervyn Dymally , and California Assemblyman Willie Brown , among others. [26]
